Hello Everyone,

Over the past two days, I worked on the spikes that surround the ring on my Paradise in Blooms.  Many of you are asking when will the pattern be in??  Well, I just checked the tracking and it left Montana on January 2 but isn't due here until January 13!  Yup that is right almost 2 weeks to get to the east coast.  I know, I am just as anxious as you.  But as they say, patience is a virtue.  On the bright side, we have the kits ready to go!

In the meantime, I want to show you my progress on this beauty...

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, I picked up where I left off on the Paradise in Blooms.  Many of you have been sending me e-mails asking about the pattern and/or kits.  The patterns are on the way and we will have kits immediately in a different color way from Island Batik.  Then the color way I am doing will follow shortly there after.  They will all be available on the Canton Village Quilt Works website.

Hello Everyone,

Two days ago I began cutting and piecing the new Technique of the Month from Judy Niemeyer that is due to be published and available the first week in January, 2015.  Why am I already making it you ask?  As one of Judy's Certified Instructors (CI) and Certified Shop (CS), I will be selling this and teaching it throughout the year!  And you can only get it through a CI and CS.

I will be posting my progress in pictures as I make this quilt, so you will get to see it all come together!  You can see my blog post on selecting fabrics by clicking here, I chose a palette that is a little out of my box.  Let's take a look at where I am at so far.

Hello Everyone,

On Sunday, I spent the day with friends piecing the NEW raffle quilt for our Flights and Fantasies Quilt Show at the New England Air Museum in September, 2015!  Let me just tell you this quilt is going to be gorgeous! I am so excited to show you some of the process and can't wait until we finish it!

Hello Everyone,
Over the last couple of days, I began selecting fabrics from the shop to make a NEW project.  I am so excited to begin sewing again after lots of travel.  The planning phase always seems to take me the longest.  I tend to agonize over the design and where I want the colors to fall.  So I really take my time. Does anyone else have that same problem?  Well, maybe not a problem, just the part that goes a little slower.

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to Day Five of The Reclaimed West Blog Tour!  My name is Jackie Kunkel and I am the owner of Canton Village Quilt Works a Certified Judy Niemeyer Shop and I am also a Certified Judy Niemeyer Instructor.  I also am a designer who has been designing for fabric companies and magazines for 6 years and have my first book coming out next year!
When I was asked by Timeless Treasures and Judy Niemeyer to be part of this blog tour, I answered immediately with a YES!!  It was a chance to design with Judy and Judel's new fabric line!  How could I refuse?  But, I also get to offer my readers a fantastic giveaway too!  Oh and we DO have the fabric in, but are waiting to put it up on the site as we will be kitting it in one of Judy's very popular patterns... you will see it at the end of this blog post.

Hello Everyone,

Two weekends ago I had the opportunity to teach in my own studio!  Yup, no traveling!  I was happy to be at home and teach a phenomenal group of ladies, who did some of the most awesome work.

This class is so fun to teach as the wall hanging is really a great size to hang anywhere in the house. Some of the advantages of this pattern and class too is that you learn multiple techniques in just a few days.  Curved piecing, floating points, inserting a flange, pieced borders, and of course the Judy Niemeyer way of paper piecing.

Let's take a little look inside my studio and at the student's work...

Hello Everyone,

As of recently, I have had so much going on, I don't know where to begin.  Anyway, I have SOOOOOOO much to share with you, I am not sure what to share first.  I still have Peru pics to show, Glacier Star Class pics, new things in the shop, AND highlights from the Flights and Fantasies Quilt Show.  See what I mean by backtracking and Flip Flopping??

I think I will begin with the Glacier Star Class pics and slowly whittle my way through the others.  I hope that this is okay with all of you??  Here goes...

I have been teaching Glacier Star in NJ at Pennington Quilt Works.  Let me tell you these ladies are fantastic!  I am impressed with how they are approaching their colors and they are picking up the technique really quickly too!

Hello Everyone,

Over a week ago, I taught a great group of ladies to paper piece the Judy Niemeyer way.  The class was the Witches Brew Bed Runner.  Some of the things that I like the most about teaching this method of paper piecing is the organization, and design of the patterns.  They are soooo well thought out, that all the math is taken out for us.

One of the other things that I sooooo enjoy is seeing all the students versions and colors that they have chosen.  But what I LOVE the MOST is when my students exclaim that they love this method!  Yup... LOVE!

Here are some of the photos from the class with the Apple Valley Quilters.

Hello Everyone,

My final class at Vermont Quilt Festival, the Mini Stars Table Runner.  A fun class to teach and take.  Large and small LeMoyne Stars all done with paper piecing.  This is great because it is relatively quick and it is just a table runner.

These students were terrific too.  Let's see what they did.

Hello Everyone,

On my third day of teaching, I taught a great beginner paper piecing class, Stepping Stones.  This Judy Niemeyer pattern is great for a beginner because there are no curves and you can use pre-cut 2.5 inch strips.  We all have those, right?? The students in the class had some great color combos and really caught onto the technique!!

Hello Everyone,
