A Fun Weekend in Vermont

This past weekend, I had the chance to return to the Strong House Inn in Vergennes, VT to teach the Bali Bed Runner class.  Mary and Hugh, who own the inn are the most wonderful hosts and I love going there to teach.  We had a great group of ladies that attended and they accomplished a TON!!! Let's take a peek.

It Was a Pieceful Day...

It seems like it has been forever since I actually sewed anything.  But yesterday was different, I was determined to get some sewing time in and I did!!!  Best of all I completed what I set out to do too.  So stay with me until the end of the blog post to see how it turned out.

Wrapping Up The Glacier Star in Arizona

This weekend was spent wrapping up the last two sessions of the Glacier Star Technique of the Month class in Arizona.  This class and the ladies in it were all just fabulous!  They had worked very hard on their Glacier Stars for 3 months and accomplished so much.  Everyone is turning out so different but so beautiful!!

Yup, I am back in Arizona teaching!  I just love teaching here, the students are fantastic and the weather is just what I like... sunny and warm.

Today's class was fantastic.  These ladies were phenomenal, they really made tons of units and great progress... Let's take a little peek.

They were talented, funny, and engaging the entire time.  Let's see what happened in class.

On Saturday, I taught the first session of the Mariner's Compass class in Sturbridge, MA.  What a fun group of students.  They made great progress and worked on their compass flowers and their spokes.  I love the beginning of the class because we get to see all the wonderful fabrics that everyone has chosen.

Look What I Finished...

In between my travels, I have been working on another paper piecing project, a design from Judy Niemeyer.  I have been having fun with this one and will be teaching it to a guild in Maine in a week and a half.  It is actually a pretty quick project to make up as it is a table runner.  My first photo is a sneak peek.... Yesterday wrapped up my week long tour of teaching in Arizona!  I must say that I had a blast!!! The last class was the Arizona Cactus taught at Quiltz in Phoenix.  This group of ladies was a wonderful bunch and really fun.  Plus they got so much done too.  Let's take a peek...

Summer Solstice Wrap Up

Yesterday, I finished teaching the second session of Summer Solstice at In Stitches! in Goodyear, AZ.  These ladies in the class made great progress for a two day class!  Kudos to all of them.

Yesterday was another wonderful day in Arizona!  Sorry to all my friends and family who are now expecting a Nor'Easter today.  But I must say that I am glad I am here right now and not home....

Rainbow Feathered Star Is Quilted!!!

Hello Everyone, I am sooooo excited!! My Rainbow Feathered Star is quilted!!!!  I was able to finish it the day before I got sick.  Thank goodness too, because I don't think it would be finished now if hadn't finished it then. As far as the quilting, I am in LOVE with it!!!  Let's check it out.... Lots of glorious feathers.  I used mostly Superior's Magnifico for the thread.  Although, I did switch a couple to a variegated poly.  Love the sheen on these thread. Flame like stitching in the spikes.  The quilt as you can see is heavily quilted. More...

Feathered Star Workshop

Hello Everyone,On Sunday, I had such a great time with a great group of ladies.  I taught a workshop at The Quilt Basket in Wappinger's Falls, NY.  I was teaching the Feathered Star.  Each student had a choice... they could pick a pattern.  They could choose between the Queen Size, the Wall Hanging, or the Tree Skirt.  There are students in the class making such a variety!  I can't wait to see them all complete.  But first let me show you some of the first day of class.Diane's first unit almost done.  Love the pretty purple!Everyone was very hard at...

All Together Now

I Was Down for the Count....

Hello Everyone,Have you ever been so sick you just couldn't do anything, I mean anything for days??  That is what I have been up to for the past week... a lot of nothing.  I got sick and just couldn't do a thing.  I missed sewing so much, had to cancel a trunk show and reschedule a class.  I laid like a slug in the living room snuggled under a quilt with my cats laying all over me.As of yesterday, I began to feel slightly human again and decided to go into my home studio and sew a little.  This was...
