Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year!!!! I am looking forward to a wonderful 2015 and am wishing you all the best in the New Year too!! Just before today, I made a little progress on my Paradise in Blooms and wanted to share it with you.
I began paper piecing the ring that goes around the dahlia. I really like the darker teal background as it offsets the inner colors and makes them pop!
I began with the usual, lining up the pieces for some chain piecing.
This is what my space looks like. All organized and raring to go for for paper piecing.
Here are the pieces about half done. I love the way the golden yellow pops!
Almost there, just three more pieces to go....
One of the best parts of paper piecing is the trimmings. The colors are just beautiful all in a little pile, don't you think?
Here are the pieces that I completed up on the design wall with the other pieces. I was hoping to have some of the other pieces on, but we, at CVQW, did our year end physical inventory count. That set the sewing "train" back just a little bit. But I hope to be sewing a little more tomorrow and will can share with you some more progress.
What do you think of it so far? I am really liking it more and more with each unit that I put on it!!
