Hello Everyone,
This year has really gotten off to a terrific start! My book tour is in full swing and I am really having a blast teaching from the book. One of the first classes of the year was my Proud Mary class. This quilt was named after my Nana (short back story in the book). Not only is it one of my most favorite designs in the book, but it is so much fun to teach!!!
One of my favorite things in any of my classes is seeing my student's fabric selections coming together. The best this about this class is the color combos. They make my heart sing.
Here I am with the original Proud Mary on my left and it's sister quilt on the right. My good friend Sally Murray created the sister quilt. I love how they look similar but so different... right?
A little sampling of the makings of the quilt.
Organization is key here. As is in any pattern it is always good to be organized as the process goes so much smoother and is less stressful.
Here Bobbie and Diane are working really hard at getting their blocks completed.
Love the reds and oranges.
Some completed blocks. For me, the positive negative effect is the best part of the quilt.
Oh yea... and we always have a little fun in class!
Here is the up close photo of Proud Mary. Is it a favorite of yours? How would you make this your own?
You can find this pattern and many more in my book Splash of Color. You can purchase a signed copy of my book here in my shop. Or if you prefer you can purchase it here on Amazon.
Until Next Time....
