Hello Everyone,

As many of you know yesterday I turned 50 and wrote a blog post reflecting on the last decade of my life.  You can read it here.  In reflecting, I talked about how many wonderful and talented people I have met through my teachings and all along the way.   I also spoke of my warm and kind friends and family.

Then... BOOM... it dawned on me!!! How cool would it be to have a quilt with a little bit of as many of those people stitched right in it??  Cool right?

So here is what I am asking, I would love for anyone who would like to be part of my Birthday Memory Quilt, to send me just ONE signature block!

Below you will find the tutorial for the block that I would like.  This way they are all the same size and I can easily design the final quilt around all the blocks.  This will be so fun... See the tutorial below and then any final details at the end.

What you will need:

1 - White (NO cream please) Square 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"

2 - Brightly (I like brights can be any color, it doesn't have to be just red) Colored Squares 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

On the 2 brightly colored squares draw a line on the diagonal from one corner to the other.

Place the brightly colored square in the corner on the white square.  Stitch on the line that you drew.

Press.

Place the second square on the opposite corner and stitch in the same manner as the first square.

Press.

After you have pressed both squares, open up again then trim 1/4" away from the stitch line.  Save the triangles that you are trimming off... wait for it...

and Year

In the white with a black permanent fabric pen.  The block should finish at 4 1/2" square.

It takes about 10 minutes to make!!! Woohoo!!!

With the four triangles that are left, stitch a 1/4" seam.

Press to created 2 half square triangles.

Now that the signature block and the half square triangles are complete you can send them to me! I will put them in one quilt. The half square triangles will play a role in the setting, most likely sashing or borders. This will be my memory quilt of all the fabulous people and friends that I have made in my life's journey!

Send me a quick e-mail at jackie@cvquiltworks.com and I will send you my mailing address.

I will collect blocks through the end of 2015.  Then I will build the quilt!

Thank you in advance for making my 50th birthday year even better!

I will continually update you on all the beautiful blocks that I receive!

In the meantime, don't forget to visit the blog hop and giveaway that is going on by clicking here.

Until Next Time...
