Hello Everyone,
WOW... have I been busy! Busy meeting some deadlines... writing and proofing patterns. I love the whole design process, but out of everything that I design and do... writing patterns is my least favorite part of the process. But it is done! Woohoo!
Now onto the next deadline. I have designed more quilts for my fall line of fabric with Island Batik and the fabric just arrived, so I will be putting those quilts together in the next coming weeks. But before I really dig into it, I managed to make a NEW quilt for my own bed. And it was high time too! The quilt that we have on our bed I made almost 17 years ago!!!
I had the fabrics all chosen, they are Kaffe Fassett's new Artisan Collection. I couldn't resist. They are warm and bright colors, that just make me smile. So I washed them up and then began cutting on Monday.
Once I had them all cut out, I laid them on my long arm to get ready to sew. It is a really simple pattern, just strips. So it didn't take long to cut and get in order. Then to sew it basically took me Tuesday to get it all sew it all together.
I am pretty smitten with how our bedroom is going to look! What do you think? Next up, I will be making the backing today and putting it onto the longarm for finishing. Then binding and pillows to throw onto the bed!!!
Hmmm... then I think I will have to change the color of the bedroom too. That will be difficult. Anyway, this is what I did before I dig into my other projects. Do you sneak projects in between others too?
Until Next Time...
