Hello Everyone,
I have been away for over a week and a half and did many fun things! I began with travel to Denver, CO and met up with my good friend Lisa to attend Electric Quilt (EQ) Academy. Although I have been using EQ for a while, I felt that there was so much more to learn and boy did we learn!!!
But the first thing that we did when we arrived was headed to Golden, CO to the quilt museum to see my friend Bill Volckening's exhibit! What a treat it was to see some gorgeous New York Beauty quilts on display. They were very inspiring. But what was even better was to see them in person and not in a book. They were amazing!
Once we finished there, we popped into the local quilt shop and made a couple of little purchases. This was so much fun for me as I don't get to do this that often. Then we went to Bob's Atomic Burgers for a bite to eat! OMG!! It was so good. When I visit places I haven't been to yet, I always like to go where the locals go!
After that we visited two more quilt shops. One which was another Judy Niemeyer Certified Shop, like ours! They were so friendly and of course had some great quilts on display. The name of the shop is Sew-Ciety. So if you are ever in Denver, definitely pop in! We also visited another shop called Fabric Bliss... small and quaint, lots of yarn and modern fabric. Just love the name of the shop. Doesn't everyone think fabric is bliss?
And of course, we ended our day with a beautiful sunset!! Stay tuned for another post on EQ Academy!!
Until Next Time....
