Hello Everyone,
Perhaps you remember my blog post from last year about the quilt that I was making for my son as a Christmas gift? Well... if not, click here to see the post. In the meantime, I had not finished it!!! ACK! It remained on my design wall until I had to take it down.
NOW, I am in a rush to finish it for him this Christmas. Might I add, that he has been NOT so patiently waiting for it.... All year, "Is it done yet?", "When am I getting that quilt?", "Have you been working on that quilt?". I will tell you it is a good thing he live far from me.... otherwise I think that would have been a daily occurrence... LOL!!!
I am adding sashing to the whole thing! Yes, that will instantly make it bigger! But then I found out I still needed to make more blocks. WHAT?? Yup, just one more row. So I got to it... and with help from my Quilt Inspector Number One... help, really?
Blocks DONE! Woohoo!
Suffice it to say, I have been working hard to "Get 'er done!" I am ALMOST there too! Once the top is done, it will be no problem getting it onto the longarm. Ooops... I forgot, gotta make the backing first. That will be a cake walk in comparison to the quilt.
Colorful cornerstones will make the rest of the quilt POP! The sheer size of this quilt is unreal. I am making an oversized King. I want it to be more of a bedspread than just a quilt to cover the mattress. My son is tall and built like a football player, so it needs to cover him through the night and wrap him in hugs from his Mom!
I know a lot of you will ask about the pattern, just click here and read the blog post that I wrote all about it. I wish I could say it was my pattern, but alas... it is not. But I LOVE it!!! Any how... My aim is to have it done for him for this Christmas! Do you think I can do it??
