Hello Everyone,

With my studio packed up and painters in there sanding and painting, I have moved my sewing area to the dining room.  Yup, it is temporary for now.  When they are done, I am moving back in to the studio to sew!  But for now I am pretty happy in the dining room.

While here I have begun to do some paper piecing.  I am working on the Prairie Star, yes it is a Judy Niemeyer pattern and available here.  I had cut all the fabric out a few months ago and had not had a chance to get back to it until now.

I am having a blast!  I started on Wednesday with Bag 1.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Judy Niemeyer patterns, it is all about the organization.  Fabrics are cut and placed in bags along with the proper paper foundations. Bag 1 is the center of the quilt.  This is one side with the red spike.

This is the other side with yellow spikes.  There are 4 with red, 4 with yellow and the make up the 8 in the middle.

Isn't it gorgeous?  That I was able to make all in a rainy, gray day.  When that was done, I began working on Bag 2

I am using Judy's Reclaimed West Collection.  This was a kit that we sold last year, but no longer have any left.  It sold out immediately, sorry there aren't any left.

Bag 2 is a unit that Judy uses a lot in her patterns, Unit H.  I love this as it is fun and quick to make.  Again there are 8 of these too. While working on these, I have been watching quite a few of the Craftsy classes that I have signed up for.  Learning new tips and techniques is always fun!

Oh yea... and my helper has been here too.  He is under the table, but still helping nonetheless!

Yesterday, I finished all 8 Unit H.  I am very pleased at how they turned out! But they won't be arranged like this in the quilt.  They will be surrounded by the CG Unit that I began when I finished the Unit H.

The CG Unit is Circling Geese.  These are fun to make and really add another design element to the quilt. I am hoping to finish them today!

I am almost done with this spool of my favorite thread.... gotta love Aurifil 50wt!!  Nice to see it almost done as that means progress!!!

You can find the pattern here... if we are out of stock, just click on the Notify Me button and enter your e-mail address and you will be notified when it comes in!  Simple!

Have you ever wanted to learn Judy Niemeyer and not been able to take a class?  You might want to consider taking my online class through Craftsy where you will learn an exclusive pattern and the techniques you will use to create other beautiful Judy Niemeyer patterns.

So what are you working on?? I would love to know!

Until Next Time...
