Hello Everyone,
From Arizona back home to Connecticut and then to NY to teach!!! I had the pleasure of speaking at Quilt North Guild in Clifton Park, NY. What a great group of ladies! I had so much fun at the guild meeting. Then the next day I was honored to teach a Judy Niemeyer class, the Farmhouse Window Table Runner. A very popular class! The ladies did a fantastic job!
Let's take a peek at class time!
This first photos shows the table runner that everyone was working on. There is a left and a right wedge as well as some flying geese.
In the class I teach how to organize and getting read for chain piecing the units and paper piecing. Yes, you can chain piece when you paper piece!!!
One unit all done, just needs a little trimming!
Another unit all done and trimmed up! One of the great things about teaching classes is that I also have repeat students, which means that they bring back the projects from previous classes all finished!!!
Laura brought back her Sunflower Illusions quilt and I just love it! She took this class with me at Vermont Quilt Festival in 2014. She did a fantastic job.
And sometimes there is a student in class who has already done a Judy Niemeyer project on their on and I always ask them to show it!
In this case, Sue had done the Bali Wedding Star on her own and brought it in for show and tell. She did a fantastic job, it is just stunning!
Well back to class now....
Don't you just love the color combo in this unit? I can't wait to see it all complete.
Here I took wedges from every student and we just played a little bit! Too much fun. Now they had to remember which one was their own.
Onto the flying geese... all organized and ready to sew. The unfortunate thing was I thought I got photos of completed geese, but alas I didn't. So I am hoping that my students will send some pics via e-mail.
This patten is available here.
If you want to learn the technique, but can't get to a class try my Craftsy class online!!! Just click on this link and you will get it for half price!
Until Next Time....
