Hello Everyone,

Well after lots of traveling, I have a little time to get caught up on my blog posts.  Yup... I am sick, so I can actually sit here with my laptop and work on the computer.  Lucky you, because you can get caught up... bad for me because I am sick.  BLEH!

Next up, a class that I taught in Arizona at Quiltz in Phoenix.  The class I taught was my Hip to Be Square pattern from my book Splash of Color.  Wait until you see what these ladies did!  Lots of color to be had here....

This is the Hip to Be Square Quilt which is also on the cover of the book!

One thing that I love most about this quilt is the options but most of all the COLOR!!! Yup... lots of color!

Everyone was getting organized and we talked about values, print scales, and color.

Some chose more fabric too.  I see nothing wrong with that at all, do you?  We all could use more fabric.

As everyone got organized, they also began sewing.  Of course that is the best part as we feel a great sense of accomplishment!

The other great thing about a class is that we get to play.  So this class is based on grouping colors, this student decided to make her colors more random instead of groups.  I like it!

One of my students is getting her color groupings together.  I love the orange grouping.

More color groupings.

These color groupings are made with Kaffe Fassett.  You all know how much I love Kaffe Fassett.  This is going to be a stunner.

All the students learn to chain piece.  If they haven't done it before they love it.  Very efficient.  Once the chain piecing is done we press.  I love this little line up of pressing.

Auditioning of sashing choices.

Blocks are made!

The above blocks were posted by one of my students on Instagram and I loved that she posted so I reposted!  I love her progress!

Then I got this photo from one of my students.  She just needs to put the borders on!!! Looks great, right?

And then, I got an e-mail from another student... the one with the Kaffe Fassett version.  And well.... beautiful!  Borders need to be added!

This was such a fun class to teach and watch the quilts come together.

If you want to join in on the fun and post your quilts from the book, we have a group set up on Facebook and would love to have you there.  Just click here to join.

If you would like to see more pics from the class, click here.

If you would like to purchase the book, you can get a signed copy here on my site or you can purchase it at discount on Amazon by clicking here.

Hope you are inspired to "Make a Splash"!!!

Until Next Time...
