Many of you are all aware that my first book was released on September 8, 2015 and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you! So I asked some of my quilter blogging buddies to help show off the book a bit, but with their favorites and some are even making quilts from the book (their version) to show you!
I am as excited to see what they have to say and and to show you, as I don't even know!! The best part for you is that each blogger will be giving away a copy of Splash of Color to one lucky winner. A few blog posts ago, I shared with you what is probably my most favorite quilt from the book, Lava Lamps. You can see that post by clicking here. Today, I wanted to share the quilt above. This one is Proud Mary. Named after my Nana, this quilt has so many things that I love in a quilt. It has curves, color, whimsy, movement, and it is just plain fun. But so many design options exist too! Exchanging black for white, or making the color the larger sections and the black and white fabrics the strips. What fun would that be?
Here was the quilt in progress last year (2014). You can see pieces of Lava Lamps hanging on the right side too!
This is a little sneak peek at my good friend Sally's alternate version of Proud Mary that is in the book as well. You really get a great close up of the quilting that Margaret Solomon Gunn did. Actually she quilted both my version and Sally's! Hmmmm.... will Margaret give you more detail on her blog post on her day of the hop?? I don't know stay tuned!
