Hello Everyone,
How many of you remember Home Economics class? This class was one of my favorite. I had it in 6th grade for a whole year. Half the year we learned to sew. I made a ton of clothing and also some patchwork. I actually still have my first patchwork pillow made in the class.
The second half of the year we learned to cook. We made tons of different things. Prepared menus, learned how to set a table, and then made the recipes from the menu. I still have the recipe box with the recipes that we made, AND it is in my 6th grade handwriting.
I had the pleasure of reconnecting with my Home Economics Teacher, courtesy of Facebook! I love that, a great way to find people that have been an important part of your life.
This is my patchwork pillow from the 6th grade. It wasn't perfect and totally spoke early 70s, but it is mine and reminds me why I love what I do! It looks like I tried to have some kind of pattern design with the fabrics, but maybe just didn't lay them out right? Not sure and the older me certainly does not remember.
Here is the recipe box complete with recipes from our class! They are still great now!!!
I really love going down memory lane, don't you? If you have some memories from Home Economics Class, please share them.
Also, don't forget to come back here tomorrow for all the details on this...
Until Next Time...
