Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was an exciting day, I got all the appliqué stitched down on my Paradise in Blooms! Now I can begin to piece all the units together to complete the quilt top!  Happy Dance!  Only a couple more days.  Let's take a peek!

This is the appliqué layout for the center medallion pieces.  They are all turned down and ready to get glued on with Roxanne's Glue Baste It (found here).

Here it is all glued down and ready to stitch, YIPPEE!!

Here is a close up of the stitches that I used here.  The thread I used was Kimono Silk by Superior Threads.  Silk is great to use, it is 100 weight, so it if very fine it almost appears invisible.  Also, did you know that silk is one of the strongest natural fibers?  Yup, it is true!  I was asked on Facebook if I like invisible thread.  The answer is, I am not a fan.  Not that I haven't used it before.  I have, a very long time ago and don't like the fact that it is not a fiber that I am using in a quilt.  It tends to break over time and depending on the brand, it can break while you are using it in your machine.

Hmmm... who do we have here?  My quilt inspector has come to take a look at my appliqué and make sure my stitches are up to par.

Here is another close up.  What do you think?  Not too bad...

Here is part of the quilt.  I have to say the appliqué really adds a little something, something.

The whole quilt.  Now to join the units together!  We are going to be getting a blizzard over the next 36 hours with snow from 20-30 inches.  So if the power doesn't go out, I will be hunkered down and sewing.
