Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, over the past few months we have been busy with our move to Arizona.  My hubby and I are finally settled back into some type of normalcy at this point, so I am attempting to get back into the groove and begin blogging again.

First I want to thank all of you who have been sending me e-mails, commenting on Facebook, Instagram and wishing me well.  I have basically been doing quick daily posts on Social Media to keep everyone up to date. I appreciate you all following me there as it definitely has been an easy way for me to communicate via my iPhone vs sitting down (which I really haven't had time to do) with the computer.

Let's start at the beginning... Back in June we began our journey by flying our kitties out to AZ and closing on our new home.  That had me worried... the flying the kitties part... but they did great and have settled in nicely!  Then while hubby stayed to work, I flew back to CT to meet the movers and pack up our home there.  To say the least it was very emotional for me.  It was the house we built and raised our children in.  The other emotional part is that it still has yet to sell.  That is stressful for me.

Once the movers left, I did as well, and flew to be with my hubby in our new home.  Once I returned it was so overwhelming to unpack everything!  I just couldn't believe even after all the purging of "stuff" at home, how much "stuff" we still had.  But the good news is that we are done unpacking and have been nesting nicely in the new home.

My home studio is set up and I LOVE the room.  I did a little video tour that you can see here.

It is so much fun and I am currently working on a quilt for the spare bedroom.  One of the things that I so enjoy doing is decorating.  But boy is it exhausting!  Slowly but surely we are getting it done.  We have met many of our neighbors and it has been great.  I have also been going for a daily 4-5 mile walk every morning at sunrise as it is relatively cool then.  I love the fact that I don't have to worry weather it is going to rain or anything else.... Sunny everyday!  Can't beat it!

We have also been busy with the landscapers and they are almost complete with our backyard.  We have implemented a desert backyard.  No lawn to mow and we love that!!! No pool either as we have a community pool that we can use as part of our HOA. We love that too!  I have been posting progress pics of our backyard landscaping on FB and it is amazing the change.

One of the things that I am pleased about is that I am closer to my parents, cousins, and Aunt and Uncle.  For all the years we lived in CT (since 1987) we were no where close to family, now we are and I love it!  But during those years we made so many friends and it was so difficult to leave them as I consider them family!  What is great is that many of them are already coming to visit us!! We are excited to see them all too!

In the next week and a half I will be heading back to CT to be a feature lecturer and teacher for the Clamshell Quilt Guild's show from August 5-7, 2016 and I hope that if you are in the area you will stop to say hello!  I truly am missing the quilty community right now... I took all of July and most of August off because of the move and I feel like I am sort of in a funk... so stop by and see me if  you can!!!

I am going to also be more diligent about blogging from here on in too!  Oh and just so you know, Canton Village Quilt Works is still open for business!!!  We are selling Judy Niemeyer patterns, My Patterns, Paper piecing supplies and notions,  and soon my first fabric line! So, please continue to shop with us!  We have been shipping since the beginning of July!

Thank you to all for sticking with me!

Until Next Time...
