Hello Everyone,
Over the past two weeks I have been beta testing a new program developed by Quiltworx, called Quiltster. Let me be the first (well maybe not the first) to say how much fun it is! This program is basically a coloring program for Judy Niemeyer Designs. You can upload your own fabrics or use the huge base that they have to see what your Judy design will look like before you even begin to pull fabrics.
AND it gives you yardage amounts, ways to mix, rotate, and swap blocks and so much more!!! Eventually they will have more designer's portfolios in the program too. Before you ask, the program isn't due out to the public until the end of the year.
So do you want a peek at what I have been playing with AND will actually be making??
The above pattern is Summer Solstice and I decided to be a little patriotic with this one. Of course, I had to use black and white fabric and then red, white, and blue. I played for about 5-10 minutes and this was the result. I love how it turned out. The best part is that I can continue to edit and change as I see fit!
Here are the fabrics that I chose. These are a combo of batiks, prints, and a solid thrown in for good measure. Once I chose them I cut them up and they are ready to be sewn. I am looking forward to putting the quilt next to the vision in Quiltster.
The next quilt....
This one is the Feathered Snowflake. I love the combination of fuchsia/magenta and oranges. Combine those with gray and POW a terrific marriage of color. I then went and pulled the fabrics...
This time, I came up with all batiks. I am super excited about this color combo and can't wait to cut them up!
I also began to pull another project, which I will show you on another blog post. I need to finish pulling them first.
I have been very fortunate to be a beta tester and can see so many possibilities with this program. It will revolutionize the way quilters make their quilts. Mind you it is NOT a quilt design program, but a "coloring" program for designs that are on the market. The cool thing is that you can use it from your desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. So many places that you can use the program!!!
