Hello Everyone,
This past weekend was very inspiring. So much so that I began and completed a new top. Have you ever had an idea and had to pounce on it immediately? Well, that is what I did. And I am so psyched about it, I can't tell you! I love it.
Karen Eckmeier came to our classroom studio to teach three classes this past weekend. The classes were full so I did not participate. But I did soak in a ton! She was the complete inspiration for this! Thank you, Karen!
After class I went home and immediately began working on this little mosaic! My head was swimming with ideas.
I grabbed a bag of scraps from a previous project and began cutting up the little squares and then laid them onto my foundation fabric. I am loving the way it looks already.
Adding a second color for variety. I am working with batiks as batiks have such a great variation in color that they really give a great look for a mosaic.
Oooooo... now I am really enjoying this. My heart is singing at the moment and I just can't stop. Kind of like eating potato chips...
Adding a third color, now this is getting interesting.
Yup, this is what I am going for.... Do you ever feel the same way as I am feeling when you are working on a project and you can't stop until you see the next part?
The fourth color is bringing it all together!!
TaDa!!! The mosaic is done, well sort of.... now I have to quilt it. That won't happen right away as I have another pending project that has to get completed as I have a deadline. So this is going to wait. But I just couldn't stop until I created this!
And for those who are wondering, they are 1/2" squares. Yup! I am just a whee bit crazy. But I love the dark grout lines showing through don't you?
Until Next Time...
