Hello Everyone,
I am making progress on my Paradise In Blooms!!! I have added another layer that surrounds the magenta. I chose a very pale aqua so that the magenta dahlia would stand out. Here is a sneak peek...
Looks good from this distance doesn't it?
So I started with lining up my sections for chain piecing. I love the orange batiks that I used. The gold one adds a little pop!
Part way into my chain piecing, I realized that I made a boo-boo on ALL 8 sections. Yup! I had to rip them all out. I used an eyebrow trimmer/shaper that one of my students showed me! Luckily for you, I did a little video tutorial for you. You can see how you use this to rip seams out!! Just click here.
Once I ripped them all out, this is how they looked. I was very pleased. Better yet, after I finished this I was able to finish it's sister unit and then added them to the design wall. So now my Paradise In Blooms looks like this...
I am enjoying the process on this piece. Now for the ring that surrounds this entire dahlia. But Christmas is coming so I may not get back to it until Friday. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, if you would like to take this class from me, click here to see where I am teaching it in 2015.
Until Next Time...
