Hello Everyone,

Sorry this has taken so long. I got back on Sunday and just uploaded the pictures last night. But as many of you may have read already, AQS will not allow anyone to post pictures of the quilts without express consent from them or the owner of the quilt.

So luckily, I knew someone who owned two of the quilts. I got consent from her to post them. Some of you may already know my friend Karen Eckmeier, she is a national quilt teacher, designer, and author. Not to mention an accomplished quilter. She entered 2 quilts into the AQS show this year.

This first one is just adorable! Isn't the moose just too cute in the center?

Karen is a big fan of lizards. In fact, her business is called The Quilted Lizard. So it stands to reason that she would make a quilt like the one above. But she also added some turtles too. I love it. If you don't know Karen go check out her site by clicking HERE.

So a review of the show. Lots really to cover. But the long and short of it is that I would go again. A couple of problems were that by the time we arrived on Saturday they were out of programs and show pins. So there were really no descriptions of the quilts to read. Also, the main floor or first floor made my back ache something terrible. It was carpet covered concrete so it didn't give.

The second and third floor were much better on the feet. Liberty Place, where they had a satellite show and vendors, was okay. But was enjoyable none the less. On Friday we did go to surrounding shops and the Blossom Festival across from where QHC used to be. For a more detailed review, Anya did a great job. You may want to go over and visit her, but come back here quick for some eye candy.

But the following pics are some fabric that I scored at the show. I was on the lookout for new for authentic African fabrics to add to my collection. I found some.

This is what I found! My favorite vendor from NY, Yara African Fabrics, was there with his goods! I started collecting African fabrics a while ago, when the hubs went to Africa and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. He was very thoughtful and brought me back some wonderful fabrics. So he is to blame for this African fabric addiction... LOL!

Aren't they just fabulous!! Do any of you have a secret fabric collection? Now I really need to get working on that quilt for him. Yes, another project, but I would really like to have this done as a Christmas gift... shhhh.

Other notes: New Fabrics from Art Gallery are in the shop!! Check them out HERE. And lots more fabric on the way... Westminster, Free Spirit, Robert Kaufman, just to mention a few!

Also, if you haven't already, sign up as a fan on my new Facebook Page! Lots of quick updates there.

Have a great day!

Until Next Time...
