Hello Everyone,
Yesterday was spent with two really good friends. We had this weekend planned for a little while as my weekend's are usually spent teaching and this one was a free weekend! My friend Lisa had been recommending this Venezuelan Restaurant in Norwalk, CT to us for over a year or so and said that we really needed to make some time to go. Then after that we would head to her place of employment... The Maritime Museum!
My hubs and I began the day with a stop at Good Will. We have been purging like crazy for the move and had quite a bit of clothing to drop off. Felt good to give some of our gently used clothing to others.
Then it was off to pick up Lisa and Kurt. We headed to the restaurant first as I was HUNGRY! We arrived at about noon and there was already a wait and the place was chock full of people! This is always a good sign that it is well liked and excellent food.
While we waited Lisa and I left the guys at the bar and we went down a few doors and visited Christies' Quilting Boutique. Just as we were finishing browsing, we were beckoned to come back. We sat and debated over what to order, lots of delicious choices on the menu.
The hubs, Lisa and I all had the works!! An empanada, Arepa, plantains, ceviche, and rice and beans! My empanada was chorizo and peppers, my arepa was chicken, cheese, and avocado. All I can say is YUM!! So glad we went. The restaurant is called Valencia Luncheria.
Then off the to the Maritime Museum! Oh what fun that was. First up was the touch tank with rays! They are very smooth and soft. The guys even got into it! But there is so much to see!!
Some were smaller than others, but really cool to watch.
I watched the Harbor Seals for such a long time they are so CUTE!!! They have 8 females there and one of the oldest on record too! She is in her 40s!!!
Black and white with a Splash Of Color! ??
Yup, that is me trying to become one with the meerkats. See the one sitting on top of the bubble? Fun!
But there turtles, jellies, meerkats, frogs, dragons, lizards, fish, sharks, and so much more! This was my first time there and I really enjoyed it a lot! Always love learning new things and dispelling myths or things that you have been told about animals too!
A fun place for everyone, and boy was it packed yesterday! A must see, The Maritime Museum at Norwalk.
Hope you enjoyed my little tour... now back to regular programming... cleaning and purging for the day!
