On Saturday, I taught my Island Breeze class at A Quilter's Oasis in Mesa and boy did these ladies do a wonderful job! One of the things that I love most about teaching is seeing all the colors that my student's pick out. It excites me to see my designs come to life from a different perspective.

Did you ever have a week where you had everything carefully planned out and actually got none of what you planned done?? This was one of those weeks. Although, I it was a productive week and I was able to accomplish many things, one of the main things that was on the agenda did not get accomplished.... writing my new patterns! Alas, that will happen this coming week.

Today is the 60th wedding anniversary of my parents! My Mom and Dad have been a source of love, support, encouragement, inspiration, compassion, forgiveness, listeners, caregivers, entertainers, and so much more! It is amazing to know these two individuals, but even more amazing to be their daughter. To think that they have been married for 60 years, one can only hope and wish that for themselves... to have a friend and confidante that you can spend your life with...

What have I been up to lately? Well I have been doing a lot of traveling and teaching. I just returned from teaching at Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival (KCRQF). I really enjoyed this quilt show. But what really amazes me is that this show is a collaborative effort between 17 area quilt guilds! That is an AWESOME feat! They had phenomenal quilts and exhibits, a crazy amount of vendors, AND tons of classes from fabulous teachers.

I love this technique and use it all the time. Some of you may be familiar with it, but it is always a great refresher. Wow! Quilt Market was fabulous... I was busy, busy everyday!!! A good busy though. While I worked in my booth everyday, I did get time to walk the floor and see some of the new things that fabric companies and designers were showing. But it was also so much fun seeing many of my friends that I hadn't seen in a while.
