Hello Everyone,
Whew!!! It is my month for my block... can I get a YAY!!!??? My block is called the Shining Star and it is paper pieced. For those of you who know me, you know how much I LOVE to paper piece! So designing this block was second nature. I am thankful to Pat and Jane for including me in this phenomenal line up of designers. Aren't the blocks just wonderful???
Anyway, when I was asked to design a block the wheels started churning immediately. I decided on a star block mainly because of my hubby. We love stargazing and spent a fair amount of time doing that on our very first date. To this day, we continue to look to the sky at night. This block is super special and super meaningful to me.
The block that I created was done in "Civil War Repro" type fabrics. For those of you who follow me, this is not really in my box....LOL! So it was a bit of a challenge for me, but I love how it turned out and hope you do too! And of course I loved using my favorite Aurifil threads too.
I then re-made the block in some fun bright and bold fabrics and of course threw some black and whites in there too. So see.... a design CAN look terrific in many different color ways... AND I can't wait to see what you all choose for your color ways either!
