Hello Everyone,

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of traveling to Houlton, ME which is about a mile or so from the Canadian border.  The purpose of my travels there was to present a trunk show and workshop to the Friends and Needles Quilt Guild.  Houlton is not a very big town at all and it was also very cold there this past weekend, but I can't begin to tell you what a great time I had!!!

My hubby came along for the ride as it took a day to travel there.  It was great to have him with me.  On Friday before my  trunk show, we decided to go into Canada as we were told that Woodstock was a neat little town and Hartland is the home to the worlds longest covered bridge!!!

Yes, it really is that long!  It is pretty amazing.

Here is a photo of the entire bridge.  Pretty awesome isn't it?

Then we saw this quilt barn block/quilt in Houlton, ME.  The Friends and Needles Quilt Guild is beginning a Maine Quilt Barn Trail.  This is one that is right in the town that they have their guild meetings and on the local quilt shop.

Onto the trunk show and workshop.

Here is one photo of me presenting one of my quilts.  I had such an awesome time.  There were about 70 members there that night.

The next day I taught the Farmhouse Window Table Runner to a class of 17 members.

Here are two left units that were completed by one of the students.

Here are two of the happy students with their left units!!  They did a fantastic job!!

Here is the "line up" of fabrics for the flying geese unit.  Colors are gorgeous!

The flying geese unit is coming together and it looks spectacular!

Here is the group of ladies with some of their finished pieces.  They were very pleased as was I.  It is so much fun seeing their quilts come together!

After the workshop, we stayed the night and left early in the morning on Sunday as it is an entire day drive to get home.  But we made it a point to stop at the Maine Diner in Wells, Maine.  We are very BIG Diners, Drive-ins and Dives fans and love to stop at the places that have been on the show.  Many have really lived up to the hype.  This diner was no exception.

Very excited to give it a try....

Seafood chowder was chock full of seafood.  Just look at that piece of lobster meat, but there was also shrimp and scallops in there!! Woohoo and YUM!!

The hubs had a hot lobster roll and coleslaw.  Let me just say there was nothing left on the plate when he was done.  Another  YUM!!!

Mine was a lobster club sandwich.  Let me tell you that lettuce, tomato and bacon never tasted so good with so much lobster!!!!  It was delish!! Nothing was left on my plate either.  Another YUM!!!

I hope you enjoyed this little journey of mine to Maine for the weekend.  I know I enjoyed it!!!

Until Next Time...
