Hello Everyone,Yesterday I showed you the fabrics that I am using in my daughter's college quilt.  Today I started to cut them into 3.5 inch squares.  Then I began to place them on my design wall...I have a R...I have a P...I have a R and a P, now all I need is the I.  My design wall is just not big enough.  I will have to make this quilt in sections and then put it together.  But this is the basic concept. I think it is coming along nicely and it is what my daughter has requested.  Now to add...

Hello Everyone,I may have mentioned that my daughter will be heading to college in August... so being the good quilting mom that I am,  I can't possibly send her without a college quilt. The school colors are cherry red and white. So I picked a nice selection of reds from my stash.  Funny when I was looking for cherry red, I kept finding more orangey reds and fuchsia.  Weird, I thought I had mostly cherry reds and I have A LOT of red in my stash.  This is what I came up with and I think they are pretty good.  Yes, there...

Hello Everyone,Yes, it is true, I am almost done with Hot Flash!! Although I may end up naming it something else. Now mind you my daughter's birthday is only 2 days away, so it most likely will be ready for Christmas and not her birthday. I don't think she will mind. This weekend, I applied the pieced borders and really love the way it looks. I just need to add one more plain border. It will be a black with a white background. These quarter square/half square triangle combo units were easy peasy using the Tucker Trimmer. They really turned out perfect....

Hello Everyone,So sorry, this post was intended for yesterday, but we were without internet! It is really amazing how much we depend on technology isn't it?Anyway, so this past weekend I did some sewing and worked on my daughter's Hunter's Star Quilt as shown in this post. I was able to put on the two inner borders and also work on the 3rd border which is pieced. The result was these combo units. Black and white with a touch of teal and blue, just like she wanted. I started with 3 piles of squares. One black, one white, and one with...

Hello Everyone,First don't forget to enter the AccuQuilt GO! giveaway by clicking HERE.The last installment of the Black and White Inspiration. This is a quilt that I blogged about in February, 2008. I made this for a friend who was retiring at the time. She had purchased a sporty new HOT red car, so of course I thought red would be the perfect compliment to the black and white.A close up of the quilting. I don't remember what design I used, but it was an edge to edge and it was wavy. Sorry, I just can't remember that far back,...

Hello Everyone,Yes, yet another black and white quilt!! This time the color that I added was pink, a BIG favorite of mine. There is a little story behind this quilt. I made it for my friend, who was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was to be auctioned at her Quilt Pink Event at her quilt store about 5 years ago.I made the whole thing from my stash and the proceeds were to go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure fund. I loved the quilt so much that I bought it back from her! The money still going to...

Hello Everyone,Welcome to my third installment of Black and White Inspiration. So on my second post regarding my black and white quilts, I had asked which color I would use next. So here we go...I again used a variety of black and white fabrics since I have an extensive collection. This quilt was created from a class that I took with Laurie Shifrin. It is a black, white, and red quilt. I am making it for a friend, but she doesn't know. Shhhhhhhh!!I then took the project to my quilting group on Monday and worked more on it there.
