Hello Everyone
Last week I shared my progress on my Prairie Star quilt. I made quite a bit of head way and all the units are now complete! I just need to join them. Do you ever get that great feeling of satisfaction when you have completed components even when the whole quilt is not yet complete?
I have just that feeling with this quilt. I am loving it! If you have never done a lone star quilt, paper piecing is the way to go. No diamonds to deal with and it is a strip pieced method. It goes so quickly.
Many of you might be wondering why I chose the fabrics that I did since I usually do the bold and bright? Well, this collection of fabrics was Judy and Judel Niemeyer's first fabric collection called The Reclaimed West and I really liked how the colors came together on this quilt. And I think it will look pretty awesome in my new home!! You can find the pattern here.
This is what it will look like completed.
Sometimes we do go outside our comfortable little box for reasons that are really good! This is not only a great quilt, but the colors are just right for me! Do you ever go outside your box? And why?
Also, if you haven't heard, my newest Craftsy Class just launched! I am super excited and would like to share it with you with a special 50% off discount on the class. I hope you enjoy!
