Hello Everyone,On Saturday, I taught the 2nd and last session of the Summer Solstice class at Sturbridge Quilting and Sewing.  Let me just say what an awesome group of ladies.Let's take a peek at their progress.Lone star diamonds being laid out with the NYB.Gayanne finished a diamond.Linda finished two...Beautiful!!Ruth has two diamonds done...Margrit's quadrant is all sew together.  This is the exciting part. A look at how the upper half of the quilt will appear.So I am curious... Hello Everyone,On Saturday I taught a really fun group of ladies in Sturbridge, MA at Sturbridge Quilting and Sewing. These ladies were fun, fun, fun!!The class was the first session of two.  They are working on Summer Solstice.  So they worked on piecing their New York Beauty blocks and the Lone Star sections.Here is a very pretty Lime and Black NYB  and here comes the recurrent theme...Lime and Black again.Not so lime, but black spikes.  These ladies love their black spikes and you can tell they know how to have a good time when sewing.You can see my Summer Solstice...

Hello Everyone,I know I showed you my Summer Solstice in my blog post here, but I hadn't quite finished it... now it is done!  I have sewed the binding down, put a sleeve on it and a label and sent it off to be displayed here where I will be teaching this class.I used the same fabric for the binding as I did the inner border.  I really like this effect!  Actually I am really smitten with this entire quilt.  Done with Kaffe Fassett fabrics and 3 batiks.I must tell you that paper piecing is the ONLY way to go...

Hello Everyone,Many of you may remember my Summer Solstice quilt... A.K.A "I Am Not Afraid of Color".  I finally was able to get it quilted!! I have attached the binding by machine and just need to turn it to the back and hand sew it down.  Then it will officially be complete!! But I couldn't wait to share the quilting with you.  Let's take a little tour...Here is the entire quilt and you can see lots of feathers and tons of quilting.  I used variegated thread from Superior... their Rainbows and Lava.  I switched them to match the fabrics.  I love...

Hello Everyone,Remember a few blog posts ago, I said I wanted to start quilting my own quilts in 2013?  Well, I started yesterday.  After 12 years of customer quilts...
