Hello Everyone,I am back and have had a day or so to gather myself together after the New England Quilt Festival (MQX) 2013. It was my first time teaching there and I had a BLAST! All the ladies who were in my classes were just fabulous.On Saturday, I taught the Desert Sky class and wanted to show you some of the beautiful combinations that these ladies made.A mother daughter duo made these gorgeous blocks.Yummy citrus colors.Proud mom and daughter. Hello Everyone,I had the pleasure of working in my home studio yesterday. It seems like I haven't been home much, but I guess I haven't. Having been in Arizona for a week and then coming back, I am finally feeling settled again. Do you know that feeling?Because I was home, I was able to work on two of my projects!! Very exciting.The first is that I began quilting my Desert Sky quilt! Hello Everyone,Yesterday was our last day at the retreat that I was teaching at the Strong House Inn in Vergennes, VT. I must say what a lovely group of ladies we had there and they were all very prolific! All of them understood the paper piecing process and really seemed to enjoy it!! That made me very excited and happy for them.Here we all are holding some of the blocks they completed. Hello Everyone,On Thursday, I spent the day with a lovely group of ladies in Rhode Island! I was the guest speaker and teacher at the Narragansett Bay Quilters. We started off the day with a paper piecing class. The students ere able to pick one of three patterns, Total Eclipse, Sunflower Illusions, or Desert Sky. Hello Everyone,As many of you know I was on a retreat last week. During that week I finished my Desert Sky Quilt. I am really in love with the way that it turned out too!But as with all my quilts, I rename them because they don't necessarily look like what the original pattern was named.I thought I would have a little contest to name this quilt. Hello Everyone,Our third day at the quilting retreat was a fun and fabulous day! Every retreat now, we have a sewing machine repair man come to clean and service our machines if we would like them done.This time my machine had the spa treatment. My machine is a Viking Designer SE and this is what it looks like naked. Hello Everyone,In my previous post, I indicated that I am preparing for an upcoming quilting retreat. I am actually prepping a couple of projects to bring along.Do you remember this blog post? All those fabulous batiks are now cut and ready to sew.The spikes.The backgrounds.The paper foundation units.All are ready to go!Then I had to cut the corner units for each block and...rectangles for the border units.Everything is neatly tucked into their bags.A great organizational tool so things don't get mistaken for a different block. The binder and paper clips, keep everything in order and prevents the fabric from straying.I can't...
