Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, I arrived in Montana to teach with Judy Niemeyer at her retreat center. But I must say, I left 80 degree and Sunny weather for 44 degrees and TONS of rain! You got to know I love her and teaching right? Because if you know me, I really am not a fan of the cold weather... So right now I am in paper piecing heaven! Yup, that is right, there is such a thing!! Let's take a peek at what happened yesterday.
When I arrived at the training center, I was greeted by lots of friendly faces that I hadn't seen in a while and it was soooooo nice to see everyone. But when I walked into the sewing area, I was greeted by the NEW Technique of the Month, Paradise in Blooms (pictured above). Before anyone asks.... this pattern will NOT be available until January 1, 2015 and you will be able to purchase it in our online shop!! You will also be able to tai the class with me to learn how to construct it. Dates have already been selected and you will find them in our class schedule here over the next month or so. If you can't make it to my classroom studio, you can see where else I will be teaching it on my events page here.
Anyway, what a great site to see after a full day of the above... traveling cross country. Oh the joys of sweet travel, but when it brings you to paper piecing heaven you just have to go!!
Then I saw the above... Oh MY!! Judy created a miniature version of the Vintage Compass. I LOVE it and trust me I am going to be after her to get this one published. Sorry, right now there is not any intent to publish it, but I will work on her... promise!
After seeing these beauties... I went over to the retreat center and was greeted with a classroom full of very productive ladies! Lots of familiar faces and some new too. Can't wait to begin working with them all today!
Judy was doing her thing here with a little demo. I love to learn new things from her... you never know what might happen.
I am staying at the training center with another very talented instructor, Jennifer Eubank. It is such a pleasure staying here with her, super nice and super talented. Plus, she loves BRIGHT just like me. Don't believe me, take a look....
She did the Osprey's Next in scrappy, beautiful, brightness!! How can you not love this?? It brings a smile to my face every time I see it!! Woohoo!!
LOVE her version of the Vintage Compass too!! Bright and bold.
Ahhhh... and the Fire Island Hosta. Who doesn't love a two color quilt. Especially when it is done in bright red batiks. Just gorgeous! She has one other that I need to take a photo of and will share with you hopefully tomorrow.
