Hello Everyone,

During our delay in returning home we had the opportunity to do a little sight seeing on our way from Salt Lake City to Denver. We stopped at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. Then onto Aspen, Colorado and followed Independence Pass to the Continental Divide through Leadville and onto Golden, Colorado. All very scenic!

Yes, the hubs suggested we visit the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. Of course I could not decline. What a guy!

As you enter there is the beautiful house quilt hanging. It was their raffle quilt. I had to contribute my money and purchased a few tickets. If any one else has purchased some tickets, no need to worry, I have the winning ticket... I am just saying.

Then into the museum. It is not that big, just one room, but filled with a couple of wonderful exhibits. I did take photos of all the quilts, but I am going to show you my personal favorites.

The main exhibit was featuring quilts by Ann Elliot. You can read a little bit about her above. Click on the photo to enlarge. Let me just tell you her work is just exquisite!

She does mainly applique and it is mere perfection. Plus the fact that they are also hand quilted. Loved this Baltimore Album.

But by far, these flower baskets was my absolute favorite! The colors and the design are just gorgeous.

Look at the detail, just amazing!

This quilt not only showcases her applique, but the hand quilting. Isn't it truly phenomenal. Her stitches were all quite even and precise.

This Mariner's compass quilt is just a wonderful depiction of a very popular design.

Love the quilting that she chose to highlight this quilt.

This quilt was from the book Dear Hannah. Yes, there is a Dear Hannah, in addition to Dear Jane. Ann modified her borders. Instead of piecing the traditional cones, she decided to do an applique border. Ann really chose well.

Here is where it all starts. A very quaint building in a very quaint town.

And this is the first thing that you see, a very welcoming sign.

If you are ever in Colorado and have a little time, you will thoroughly enjoy this little museum and this fun little town.

By the way, there is a 3-day Labor Day sale going on in my shop! ALL Westminster Fabrics are on sale for $7.85 per yard. Just click here to get started. The sale ends at 10pm Eastern time 9/5/11.

Until Next Time...
